Wall Street Rebounds as Dow Gains 423 Points and Indexes Finish Week Higher

Wall Street closed out the week with a rebound, with the Dow gaining four hundred twenty-three points and all three major indexes finishing the week higher. European stocks also rebounded, while oil fell and gold rose.

Wall Street closed out the week with a rebound. The Dow gained four hundred twenty-three points, up zero point eight three percent, to fifty-one thousand six hundred fifty-five. The S&P 500 rose zero point five nine percent to seven thousand eight hundred twelve, and the Nasdaq added zero point six four percent to twenty-seven thousand three hundred sixty-six.

Investors were encouraged by the tech recovery and by President Trump's pledge of no Iran strikes before the midterms. All three major indexes finished the week higher, capping a volatile stretch driven by oil prices and the AI trade. Not all stocks joined in, however. AT&T and T-Mobile fell on the SpaceX news, Apple slipped on reports of supplier order cuts, and Delta dropped after cutting its full-year outlook on higher fuel costs. Consumer sentiment fell to forty-six point three, a five-month low.

In Europe, stocks rebounded as oil prices fell and French bond yields eased. London's FTSE rose one point zero six percent to ten thousand five hundred fifty-two. Frankfurt's DAX gained one point one three percent to twenty-five thousand eighty-seven. Paris added zero point nine five percent to seven thousand eight hundred three, completing a broadly higher session across the region's main markets.

In Asia, the picture was mixed. Tokyo's Nikkei slipped zero point zero two percent to sixty-nine thousand thirty-one, while Shanghai edged up zero point zero five percent to three thousand eight hundred fourteen. Hong Kong's Hang Seng jumped one point seven nine percent to twenty-four thousand two hundred eleven, and India's Sensex rose one point two three percent to seventy-two thousand four hundred seventy-two. In Canada, the TSX gained five hundred nineteen points, up one point four eight percent, to thirty-five thousand six hundred sixty-five.

In commodities, Brent crude fell one point three percent to one hundred two dollars and ninety-one cents a barrel, and American crude fell one point two percent to ninety dollars and forty cents, though both are still up on the week on the Hormuz attacks. Gold rose one point six percent to four thousand one hundred ninety-nine dollars an ounce, and silver jumped three percent to sixty dollars and ninety-five cents.
