Federal Agents Search Congresswoman Omar's Home as Investigation Widens

Federal agents searched Representative Ilhan Omar's Washington home under a judicially authorised warrant. The Justice Department confirms an ongoing investigation; no charges have been filed, and Omar denies wrongdoing.

Federal agents searched the Washington home of Representative Ilhan Omar early on Monday. The Department of Justice confirmed that Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorised search warrant as part of an ongoing federal investigation. No charges have been filed.

Officials told NPR the multi-year investigation includes whistleblower complaints, and immigration-fraud allegations raised by a former official. The Justice Department has not detailed the scope of the probe publicly.

The inquiry appeared to widen this week. United States Attorney Jeanine Pirro told Fox News that her office is also examining Omar's financial disclosures, which per Fox's reporting valued her husband's businesses at roughly $51,000 in 2023 and close to $30 million in 2024.

Omar denies any wrongdoing and has called the search political intimidation. President Trump commented on the investigation at a rally in Ohio, the Associated Press reported.
