Paris Saint-Germain won at the Etihad Stadium for the first time, beating Manchester City 4-2 after racing into a three-goal lead inside 32 minutes.
Paris Saint-Germain beat Manchester City 4-2 at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night. Paris were three goals up inside 32 minutes, with Desire Doue scoring in the 13th minute, Ousmane Dembele adding a second two minutes later, and Vitinha making it three before half time, while City reeled in front of their home crowd.
Erling Haaland pulled one back early in the second half, Maghnes Akliouche restored the three-goal cushion, and Haaland scored again with 15 minutes left to set up a frantic finish that Paris just about survived, missing a late penalty along the way.
It is the first time Paris have ever won at the Etihad, and the win puts them on top of the Champions League standings.
The goals flew in across Europe on the same night: Real Madrid won 4-3 away to Roma, Aston Villa beat Fenerbahce 6-0 at Villa Park, Liverpool won 6-3 away to LASK in Linz, Real Betis beat Porto 3-2, Shakhtar Donetsk beat AEK Athens 3-1, Stuttgart won 3-0 in Bratislava, and Bodo/Glimt edged Borussia Dortmund 1-0 in Norway.
